The O.J. Simpson trial was during a time of social unrest after the United States and especially Los Angeles had been dealing with rioting following the brutal beating of Rodney King by LAPD officers who were later found not guilty of any crimes after the dash cam footage recorded the terrible actions by the police.
After the officers involved in the brutal beating of Rodney King were found not guilty of excessive force, people were extremely angry to say the least, and began a series of riots that lasted over 6 days, during those days, the city of Los Angeles looked like a battlefield after people were looted, pillaged and rebelled against all authority, the US National Guard had to intervene in the streets.

Simpson’s acquittance was reportedly due to a matter of social impact if he’d been found guilty, authorities feared that the April 26, 1992, riots would be rekindled, and they’d have another social emergency in their hands.
