NFL fans will recognize Ezekiel Elliott as a three-time Pro Bowler, two-time rushing champion, and one-time All-Pro.
Before his success in the NFL, the running back was raised by two former student-athletes.
Ezekiel Elliott was born on July 22, 1995, in Alton, Illinois, to his parents, Stacy Elliott and Dawn Huff Elliott.
His parents met when they were student-athletes at the University of Missouri.
His father, Stacy, played college football at the university and went on to help Ohio State speak with recruits, per Heavy.
Since 2015, he has run a sports management agency named The Fifth Down.
Dawn was a three-sport athlete throughout high school and a track and field star at the University of Missouri.
The couple also share two daughters who are athletes as well.
Lailah Elliott attended Ohio State University and was a member of the college’s track and field team before graduating in 2020.
Their youngest daughter is on the track and field team at her high school.
Ezekiel Elliott is an NFL player who was the fourth overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys.
He played with the Cowboys until he was released in 2023. He then signed a one-year contract with the New England Patriots.
Before making his NFL debut, the running back played football for Ohio State from 2013 until 2015.
The Dallas Cowboys did not select a running back during the 2024 NFL Draft.
Instead, on April 29, 2024, they announced that they resigned Ezekiel to a one-year contract.
The deal is worth $3 million with $2 million guaranteed.
