The Dallas Cowboys quarterback underwent surgery to fix a hamstring injury that will mean he will miss the rest of the NFL season
Dak Prescott underwent hamstring surgery in New York on Wednesday to address a season-ending injury, but amid all the chaos, the Dallas Cowboys quarterback will be able to enjoy the free time in the company of his family.
His fiancée Sarah Jane Ramos shared photos of the family on her Instagram stories during their stay in New York for the surgery. The first shows Dak’s nine-month-old daughter, Margaret Jane, bundled up in a pink coat in a stroller next to a stuffed leopard, with the message: “Hello, cutie” and a heart emoji.
In the other postcard shared by Sarah Jane, Dak Prescott is holding his daughter MJ, who is bundled up for the cold in the Big Apple with a furry jumpsuit and hat, while the quarterback is also dressed in winter clothes and a cap, with the message: “My heart in a picture,” in a sign that the family has been able to put a positive spin on the bad moment.
What happened to Dak Prescott?
Dak Prescott injured his hamstring in a 27-21 loss on the road to Atlanta in Week 9 and was diagnosed with a partial avulsion of the hamstring, in which the hamstring partially separates from the bone.
It’s possible that rehab and rest could have kept him out of action for about six weeks, but with surgery he’ll be able to be fully healthy next season.
It’s the second time in five years that Prescott, 31, will miss more than half the season due to injury. He broke an ankle in Week 5 of 2020, when Dallas finished 6-10.
