Upon the revelation of the cave’s secret, its discoverer quickly recognized it as something resembling a tomb. Inside, two sarcophagi were unveiled. One contained objects yet to be discussed, while the other housed medium-sized mummies alongside diminutive human mummies. Notably, the largest mummy within the sarcophagus remained only partially decomposed.
Due to concerns about potential risks to her life, Mary opted not to disclose her discovery or findings to the scientific community.
Jaime Maussan collaborated with Mario Forbade to conduct further investigations, capturing photographs and emphasizing the chamber where the otherworldly figure was found. Additionally, efforts were made to document the contents of the first sarcophagus.
Mario asserts that he intentionally withheld the precise location of the cave, revealing only a fraction of the discoveries made. Speculating that the cave may function as a repository for treasures brought to the temple, Mario believes that extensive exploration of the site is yet to be undertaken. There is an underlying fear that government intervention could lead to the destruction of the cave.
