Travis Kelce has become one of the most famous sports stars on the planet since he started dating Taylor Swift, but a teammate says we’ve all been mispronouncing his name.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end began his NFL career back in 2013 and, alongside superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes, has been a key part of three Super Bowl triumphs.
Kelce is regarded as one of the best players of all time in his position, holding multiple NFL records.

Swift has regularly been seen cheering on Kelce from an executive booth inside the Chiefs’ Arrowhead home stadium this season and the Eras tour star was present when the team claimed a back-to-back Super Bowl crown earlier this year.
Linked to arguably the most famous person in the world, Kelce now finds himself one half of the most talked-about celebrity power couple.

Yet Chris Jones, one of Kelce’s Kansas City teammates, claims everyone has been saying the standout pass-catcher’s name wrong.
“So y’all know it’s not even Travis Kel-see?” Jones was captured saying on the sideline of one Chiefs game.
“It’s Travis Kels. F–king crazy, right?”
Jones’ claim was backed up by an episode of New Heights, the podcast Kelce co-hosts alongside his older brother Jason Kelce, who was also an NFL player and Super Bowl winner with the Philadelphia Eagles before retiring at the end of last season.
“Why in the world did you change your name out of nowhere and now we are Kel-see?” Jason asked the duo’s dad. “Why did we think that our name was Kel-see for the first 24 years… 27 years of my life, 25 of Trav’s.”
And Ed Kelce replied that he simply “got tired of correcting people”.
Any uncertainty around his name has not held back Travis Kelce this season. The 35-year-old’s Chiefs team boast an NFL-best 13-1 record as they pursue an unprecedented third successive championship.
