Jabutisaba es una región de vides exóticas en Minas Gerais y São Paulo, en el sur de Brasil. Esta hierba no crece en un enrejado como las hierbas normales, sino que crece principalmente en el tronco y las ramas.
El sushi mide entre 3 y 4 cm de diámetro y suele tener cuatro semillas grandes en su interior. Al principio, los colores de Jabutіsaba son rosados, pero cuando crecen, gradualmente se vuelven morados.
‘Normalmente, esta especie florece y da frutos sólo 1 o 2 veces al año, pero cuando se riega continuamente, dará frutos durante todo el año y crecerá bien en los países tropicales. Durante la temporada de jabutisaba en Minas Gerais, los vendedores ambulantes venderán miles de bolsas de hierba en las aceras, lo que hará que esta calle se “teñiera” de un color púrpura.
Esta grata se puede comer tan pronto como se pique. Pero fermentarán fácilmente después de 3 a 4 días de la cosecha, por lo que a menudo se usan para hacer mermelada o vino. También es debido al corto tiempo de almacenamiento que rara vez se encuentran hierbas frescas fuera del área de cultivo.
